I want to install IBM BPM 8.5 product . Does it require WAS installation mandatory before installing BPM8.5 ?

BPM runs on top of WAS

Process Center and Process Server both requires WAS engine to perform the actions.

even Database is also must

proper steps are there in the documentation.
