Again, it kind of depends on how tightly you want to grasp onto "the same queue manager".
Z/OS shared queues, for example, can very very much look like "the same queue manager", from a definition of "the same" that means "appears identical to the applications getting and putting messages".
The value of a hard definition of "the same" queue manager running simultaneously on two machines is not significantly greater than a well thought out and well implemented layering of HA and MQ Clustering. At least in my opinion. Especially if the HA layer allows for very rapid failover between nodes.

And therein lies the rub...I am at a site that only monitors hardware failure to initiate fail-over, they don't monitor the actual Resource Groups; this is the second site I have encountered this. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys.
