It depends on the type of testing.... in functional testing its unlikely to catch such things but as part of operational testing id expect parameters such as memory usage to be captured, automated or not.

This was the case well before the current downturn, I would say for the last few years. It indicates a change of testing approach at Hursley, although that's speculation on my part.

You surely don't mean they're taking the Microsoft approach, i.e. get it out in the wild and wait for the incoming flood of woes and worries from the 'beta' testers do you?
