I haven't had my coffee yet this morning.

The MQCONNX call may allow this user to be changed. I don't quite remember, and I haven't yet found if this is true in the InfoCenter.

Two manuals worth reading: MQ V6 Security and MQ V6 Clients.

sounds familiar... I guess there is a growing number of "Vitors" out there....

There's a breeding program; we're endangered in the wild.

Also prolific posting keeps me at my desk and away from heavy objects which can be used as improvised weapons.

Don't think it does...

(If "think" is the word I'm looking for at the moment! )

I think the networks team at my place is comprised completely of "Vitors"

As far as I was aware, if the MCAUSER is set, it doesn't matter what the client provides. A server-side security exit might be able to change things, but not a client side exit. If this isn't true then

Hey but i know certain people do connect with user name and password ... they are in different network....but still they access the Q...

This fact just contradicts ur statement....

I believe that capitalware.biz provide a couple of security exits, one of which is an authenticating exit. This *might* be how your colleagues are accessing the queue. There might be alternatives to capitalware.biz.
