Hi docs,

I have an environment with mq ver 8.0.0.8 in aix systems. Recently for an internal activity we have shutdown the queue managers and while trying to restart the queue manager Error: AMQ7017 Log not available error has been encountered.
After basic analysis we found that mq active logs wer not generated for 30mins before shut down.z
Fdc wer generated with Probe Id :- ZX146001 and Probe Description :- AMQ7017: Log not available.
Some how we have done cold start processes and our queue Manger started working.

But the billion dollar question for us is why the logs did not get generated.

I request all respected docs to provide your input and suggestions for debbug to know why this situation has occurred.

You should be opening a ticket with IBM because it is highly unlikely that anyone here will be able to solve your issue.

But to me, it looks like someone fat-fingered an "rm -Rf *" command.

I agree with Roger. Open a service request with IBM to investigate. The most likely scenario is that someone deleted a log file. In 20+ years experience with MQ, I have seen this error a few times, and it was always due to someone deleting a log file. When asked, they needed to "free up some disk space".
