Hi,
We have just done a POC with Camel/SpringBoot micro services connecting over JMS to MQ running in a container. Is anyone else actively looking at this feature?
Our initial results were very encouraging. The new JSON CCDT structure worked OK and is pretty simple to configure. Debugging format issues is still a bit clunky. Hopefully they add the ability to generate and/or validate the JSON structure in the near future.
The apstatus mqsc option did a good job of showing connection factories. This was really good for us because we had up to 75 sessions hanging off each connection factory. During failover testing it can show stale status for the failed queue manager for a while but the only other occasion we saw errors was when an application hit the channel limit on the queue manager and kept retrying the connect call.
Another question, Micro services require a lot more connections that something like WAS. How are people managing this requirement? Do you just scale your queue managers and deal with the large volumes of connections? Or are you actively trying to put pressure on the application teams to reduce the connection requirements?
