A late update - I solved this a few days later. The problem was that the MQGMO version on the MQGET makes a big difference. If it's V1, like in amqsget, then even if there are properties in the message, you will not get them and the message handle will be empty. Instead, you might get RFH2 (depending on the queue definition) or nothing at all
So you need to make sure you do an MQGET with V2 or above, the sample amqsbcg can do this for you.
