Guys,
As this forum starts to take off, I would like to suggest that we add some additional topic areas:

Initially, I would like to see:

o MQSeries Java/JMS
o MQSeries Problem reporting

Adding:
o MQSeries ActiveX

I am an IBM mainframe MQ driver. Anybody have a real life experience with security exits?

I would rather be golfing and practicing Aikido!! Anything but MQ!!!!!

Thanks Larry Murray

Neil,
Adding a Java forum sounds good, but my only fear is that many topics will be able to either go into the Java forum or the API forum. I guess this isn't a big deal, but maybe if I create the new forum and limit it to JMS... Or do you think I should break out the API forum into various APIs, like Java, C, Cobol, and group minor APIs into an "Other" forum? Any suggestions?

MQSeries has a consistent API called MQI ... this is the basic MQCONN, MQOPEN, MQPUT and MQGET calls. These are what are commonly used in C,C++ and COBOL applications. Because of the prominence of Java and the fact that IBM has a whole different set of APIs (Java classes as opposed to procedural calls) my vote would be to have a single forum for Java (native MQ and JMS) and leave the API forum alone and not make it language specific. If an explicit description were required then the API forum would be the "MQI API Forum". Again just my vote.

As ideas for new topics.
1) MQ Clustering
2) MQ best practices. People certinly have things they are leanring and solving but I see people trying to get their hands around what works best when several methods are available. Industry experience - "best practices" .

I think MQ Clustering would be a nice additional forum.
Also, I am in the process of setting up a file repository on this site, a place where people can download source code for all kinds of MQSeries applications and utilities written in various languages. I want to try and prepopulate it with as much stuff as possible, so here's your chance to become rich and famous (well maybe not rich, but definitely famous!) by taking that little utility you wrote and putting it on http://www.mqseries.net. Since I am trying to package everything consistently, I would prefer if you could email me a zip or tarball with whatever source code and documentation you might have (don't worry if you don't have any docs, I can type something up) and I'll add it to the new software repository, crediting you of course as the author! So please, if you have anything, remember, nothing's too small; I added one of my perl scripts that simply does an MQINQ on a queue - just to serve as an example of how to use the MQINQ call in the Perl API.
So please, email anything you want to share to brandon@mqseries.net

Thanks!
