What is the best way to provide QM failover to the java (base) client?
We need to connect to one QM as the primary and only connect to another QM (the next in a list) if the primary QM is down or unavailable. This could be easily accomplished (automatically) using the binary mq client using the client connection table, but we need to have this happen with the java client.
Questions:
1.) Is there a way to bind the java client to the MQ client (binary)? ...just as it CAN be bound to a MQ Server... This way the java client would indirectly take advantage of the client tables and the failover capability that they perform.
2.) Should we write a wrapper to the java client to perform the failover? there are many cons to this...
3.) can any of the existing MQ java exit points be used?
4.) has someone else done this? ..does Hursley labs have anything "unofficial" floating around?
