Hello All,

We are facing an issue where the JMS connection to MQ is failing with below error after MQ upgrade to 8.0.0.5

JMS writer encountered a general error: com.ibm.msg.client.jms.JmsMessageProducer.send(Ljavax/jms/Destination;Ljavax/jms/Message;IIJ)

We are running MQ on RHEL. Please assist with the probable causes

Get the linked exception with the actual MQ reason code.

The issue was resolved.The app connecting over JMS with MQ was using older jar files :

Implementation-Title: WebSphere MQ classes for Java Message Service
Implementation-Version: 7.5.0.5 - p750-005-150424

Below updated version of jars were shared
com.ibm.mq.jar
com.ibm.mq.jmqi.jar
com.ibm.mqjms.jar
fscontext.jar
jms.jar
providerutil.jar

This resolved the issue.

Starting with MQ 8, there are more options that are supported and legal to get the jar files onto a machine without installing the full MQ Client, but copying the set of jar files the way you did is not one of them. There is a tremendous amount of info on the link I shared, especially via the other articles it links to.
