level of mq?
Our scenario is this. We have upgraded mq client v8.0.0.2 on all our window servers and laptop.
We are going to go to Windows 10 OS soon and according to IBM mq client v8.0.0.4 is the minimum requirement for wmq.
If we have 8.0.0.4 on the Win10 workstations and 8.0.0.2 on the servers, will that work? I know the servers and workstations are updated at different times, but usually the server is at the higher level not the workstation.
Can application code written on developers workstations at 8.0.0.4 work with servers with back level code mq client v8.0.0.2?
Yes I have done searches on google but cannot come up with anything.
Your client and server are 2 fix packs apart. Your assumption that there might be a problem is as ridiculous as your search skills.
And testing the scenario would have taken less time than posting your question here. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

MQ has always been very good at both forward and backward compatibility. For example you can write a program on MQ V7 and run it on MQ V9 or you can write it on MQ V9 and run it on MQ V7 no problem.
Usually any problems of this nature are OS based where you might have linked with an incompatible set of C runtime libraries or are going from 32bit to 64 bit or whatever. You should certainly have no problems going from one MQ fixpack level to another in the same release.
Cheers,
