Dear all,
I would like to know about how to create a MQTT listener in CICS.
First of all, I want to know is it possible..!!, then how to.
My requirement is like this :
I want to create a CICS application and it should always listen for MQTT requests . I want to create a subscriber in CICS that will receive messages that it published from some other clients.
You won't be able to connect directly to CICS with an MQTT client but you can use s WebSphere MQ queue manager or MessageSight appliance as a passthru to act as your MQTT listener which then connects to your backend CICS application.
I don't know the capabilities of CICS well enough - I trust vlampkin on that point, however.
The pattern you need to implement is to have the CICS transaction triggered off an MQ message on an MQ queue. Then you can use something to bridge MQTT to MQ. The preferred option for doing this is MessageSight. MQ has capabilties to do this, but they are not as robust or securable.
MessageSight now ships as a virtual appliance capable of production workload so you can start very small with it.
