I have an XML input message that has encoded Japanese characters. I use XMLNS parser to parse the message. The encoded characters stay as is as long as I do not manipulate the OutputRoot (built from InputRoot by the following statement: OutputRoot=InputRoot). Once I manipulate the OutputRoot, for example adding an element, is causing the encoded Japanese characters getting replaced with actual Japanese characters... Is there a way to preserve the encoded values as is? Please help!
Can you explain why this is a problem?
The downstream application should be using a properly-written XML parser, and it should not know or care whether the character is expressed as a character entity or a literal character. _________________ Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes.
