The big mainframe has multiple applications which are written in COBOL. Data for specific applications is residing in files and not in database tables. i want message broker to read data from cobol files and write data to cobol files. any opinions.?

Hope the problem statement is clearly stated

I assume your files are modelled by a cobol copybook
Have the DFDL parser ingest the copybook and create a message model.
You should then be able to model and read the file.

Have fun
