Hello, expert,

In our test environment, sth weired happened.
When developers called me, they told me a rcvr chl can't be created.
I tried DEF CHL(AAA) CHLTYPE(RCVR), it says this

DEF CHL(AAA) CHLTYPE(RCVR)
1 : DEF CHL(AAA) CHLTYPE(RCVR)
AMQ8101: WebSphere MQ error (7041) has occurred.

In qmgr AMQERR01.LOG, I got this:

06/09/14 10:29:26 - Process(12124398.9) User(mqm) Program(amqzlaa0)
Host(h141047) Installation(Installation1)
VRMF(7.1.0.3) QMgr(MQAAAA)

AMQ7041: File already exists.

EXPLANATION:
The file name selected by MQ during creation of an object is already in use by
a file that is unknown to WebSphere MQ. The file name selected by MQ was
channel/AAA, in directory /MQHA/MQAAA/data/qmgrs/MQAAA.
ACTION:
Remove the conflicting file from the MQ system, then try the operation again.

I removed that file and it gets to work again. But it is still mystery to me: How could this come into being? I just can't figure out a way how to remove a chl from the qmgr but still leaving this file continuing to exist...

Was the channel recreated, i.e. it existed before and was deleted?

According to log on the sdr qmgr side, it existed before.

In sdr qmgr, I found a retrying chl of the same name, which repeatedly reports sth like "rcvr definition not found" since May, but creation date of the chl is in April, so I suppose there was a working rcvr in the qmgr before.

So sth must have happened to make part of the rcvr chl info disappear, but file of the channel is left behind.

We are at V7.1.0.3 on both sdr and rcvr qmgrs.

If developers 'manage' that queue manager there are endless possibilities as to what may have happened!

May be also useful a configuration event enable on the Qmanager,to obtain some sort of additional information when neeeded, on the objects and definitions ...
