Im looking into installing the Tivoli manager in our environment (v5.0). Reason for the choice is simple, the support pac is free - and tivoli monitoring is already installed on our servers.

Has anyone had any experience with this (good or bad)

Thanks in advance

I too would welcome any info on this.

We are just starting to install Tivoli for MQ this week, so might have some experiences to share down the road a bit.

TAC Adapter for MQSeries is a good product. I have used it extensively. If you already have Tivoli environmetn setup you should not have to do a whole lot of stuff. However, if you are strting for the first time with Tivoli Products - you have a long way to get it setup and up-and-running.

I have some experience with other *popular* Monitoring product. But, I prefer Tivoli over it.

I had to evaluate Tivoli and would not recommend it. The situations were much more complex to setup compared to Candle. Any situation not included in the base product had to be scripted rather than a simple GUI point and click approach. The setup of TMR servers and the entire Tivoli infrastructure is a full time job in itself. Although the price is right, zero dollars, we could not justify spending the man hours needed to scripts 40 or so situations that we currently use candle to monitor.
