Does, anybody know who determines maximum number of messages which can be processed simultaneously in queue with WAS application? Is this determined with queue and queue manager definitions or with WAS?

Talk to your WAS admin. This is something being set up in JNDI and WAS config. Just be sure to have enough channels available...
