Hi,

MQFTE is new to me

I have 2 questions about it :

1. can it be used as an ETL, together with the WMB ?
If not, does someone have experience with a good ETL

2. can it be used to keep folders in sync. By which I mean, automatically detect changes and send over the changed files

Tx for any response

Hi marco,

Technically possible, but definitely not the right place to do it. FTE could be used to move the ETL inbound/outbound files.

Again technically possible, FTE can monitor deep folder structures and using a little scripting you could move the changes alone.

Regards.

Someone asked me about folder synchronization a few days ago and I think you would need to do a lot of scripting round about it to make it work with FTE.

The moving of new files wouldn't be a problem, the problem comes in where you move a new file from A to B, but need to tell the agent at B that the new file isn't 'new' and shouldn't be moved back to A. That isn't currently possible unless you wrote some really complex scripting or exits that were somehow aware of the recent inbound transfer.
