An organisation has a series of applications linked by a WMQ cluster. The cluster is used mostly for simplified administration with only one of the applications load balanced between 2 instances. The cluster has been working correctly for many months with no changes. The applications run on a mixture of AIX and Windows.
- If one of the applications not currently load balanced has 3 new instances added on 3 new servers, what changes (if any) need to be made to the WMQ configuration? What changes (if any) need to be made to the application to make it load balance compliant?
- 2 instances of a new application are to be added to the custer which must be load balanced. The application has been running for some time and is now being converted to use WMQ from TCP/IP sockets. For security reasons the servers on which this application runs are behind an internal firewall to which no modifications are allowed. What changes (if any) need to be made to the WMQ configuration? What changes (if any) need to be made to the application to make it load balance compliant?
- As the WMQ Administrator, what other issues (if any) would you flag to the applications teams? What suggestions would you make to simplify your world or theirs?
