An excellent Fortune 500 client in the Chicago area is looking for the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists in the development, specification and communication of the technology architecture plans, the infrastructure components required to support it and in the integration of corporate, distributed and/or client server business area architectures.

COMPETENCIES: Development and maintenance of a business and system architecture for firm-wide operations. Participates in system architecture studies of new and existing IT systems to permit development of integrated corporate, distributed and client server business systems, which operate at low cost levels. Recommends the appropriate computer platform, workstations and communication linkage required to support specific related business processes and information flows. Analysis and recommendation of new or different technologies which will enhance current systems and support overall corporate and business goals. Document clearly and concisely architecture, analysis and design documentation in a highly professional standardized format. Technical support to client and IT management to ensure development of efficient application systems utilizing established standards, procedures and SDLC methodologies. Performs related duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with an advanced degree preferred and at least two, typically four or more years experience in information systems architecture methodologies, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Fully conversant in Systems Analysis & Design Methodology and Object Oriented Analysis & Design requires knowledge of systems architecture, good consultative and communications skills, the ability to work effectively with client and IT management and staffs.

Job Description:
Provide maintenance and support for MQ Series and Message Broker systems.
Perform day-to-day system administration and support implementation of business requirements.
Possess ability to interact with development and production support teams as well as customers.
Performs problem diagnosis in the MQ Series and Message Broker environment.
Employ debugging techniques to identify root cause.
Possess ability to provide detailed communication to all levels of the management team. Perform installation and configuration tasks for MQSeries and Message Broker on all platforms.
Familiarity with relational databases.
Implement message flows consistent with corporate systems architecture.
Provides technical solutions for messaging needs for all new projects.
Work with project team to design and document message flow changes.
Document the messaging environments that are supported and maintain documentation to the extent necessary for overall system support.
Creating guidance documentation on the use of WMB and WMQ.

Requirements:
Â· Bachelor's Degree required in Computer Science, Information Science, or related field of study.
Â· 3+ years recent experience working in large corporate environment installing, configuring, monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting messaging queues.
Â· Strong knowledge and experience with MQ processes, triggers, channels and clustering.
Â· Knowledgeable and experienced with WebSphere Business Integration (WBI) server and its facilities.
Â· Experience designing & deploying high availability middleware solutions.
Â· Good consultative skills and the ability to work effectively with other systems and development staff, customers and vendors.
Â· A proven track record of supporting multiple projects, which involve interaction with other systems and departments.
Â· Required to provide on-call support.

The contract portion should last 5-6 months before conversion to full-time employment.
