Hi all,

I would like to know about DEFPRTY parameter in queue definitions. We have a requirement of fetching high priority messages from a specific queue. How can we use this parameter to achive this?

DEFPRTY is used if an application doesn't set a priority when putting the message. You need to set MSGDLVSQ(PRIORITY) on the queue, which causes messages of a higher priority to go to the "top" of the queue at MQPUT time.

MQ automatically presents the highest priority messages to the application, if the queue has message delivery sequence set to "priority". You don't need to change the application code.
