Hi,

I have a requirement:

A VSAM file is required. This will always contain only one record of length 20.

This record will be read by a program once every 1 minute.

Taking performance also into consideration.
which access method is better ESDS or KSDS

IIRC, if you assign the KSDS to a low use LSRPOOL, there's a good chance the CIs will remain in storage and any reference to the record will result in accessing memory vs. disk.

ThankQ for the reply, rtsujimoto

So you mean to say that if i set these parameters defining file as KSDS would be better compared to Defining it as ESDS

Given that it's only 1 record and the access is (for the most part) memory vs. disk, I don't think it makes a difference.
