I am getting this error when I am running CORBA name server as well as ICS on a different server (server A) and connecting to the ORB on Server A from a different server (server B). "Cannot connect to the CORBA name server; It may not be running or is running at a different port". I get this error though the CORBA name server is running on that specific port on a different server. Any suggestions on why this could be happening? |

Are you trying to connect to the server using system manager? |

mb, you have to set ORB_HOST in %CROSSWORLDS%\bin\CWSharedEnv.bat to server A's IP _________________ Are you gangsters? No, we are Russians! |

I am not trying to connect to the server using system manager. I am actually trying to start the server using a telnet client. And I get this message. Basically if the server starts I will be able to connect and that is not happening because of this error. I tried setting ORB_HOST to the actual ip address/server name/xternal IP address. I also tried configuring the ORB_OAHOST on the server where the PNS is running by setting it to the virtual IP address. It still doesn't work. Any thoughts? |

Can you telnet to the port?
What does the console say when it is starting the system manager? |
