MQSeries has montioring functions buildin. There are functions looking at queue depth, etc. The results are saved in a queue. A nonGUI monitoring tool can now be build in perl using the MQSeries perl interface. GUI's can be implemented with perl/TK.
Just one example for an OpenSource solution

We can see Event Management Reports (ie. for Queues and Channels) with BMC Patrol for MQ Operator(PMQO) Consoles. Just wanted to throw out another possible option. |

And yet another example..... SupportPac MO01 contains this and another couple of (perhaps not so useful) utilities:
Event Monitor (picks event messages off the queue and does a formatted display)
DLQ handler (don't know how different from the sample progs one)
Expired message browser (well, could be handy...)
...and the good thing is, it's FREE! |
