Hi Roger,

The thing that I am feeling really sorry about is that the look and feel of the various OSes that are available, will be more and more the same. It's just that little things, like dir is available on Unix, KDE is looking like Windows XP...

Many people will like that, and in fact I even think that makes a lot of lives easier in some way.

But if you grew up with something, and learned to love it the way it is, you will feel sorry about anything that gets lost of it's 'personality'.

Just imagine an AS/400 with a full graphic, worse then XP and MACOS together, GUI.

I can remember that I have seen once something like a 'make my Windows a Unix' toolkit. If you are interested, I'll ask him where he got it from.

I'm subtly reminding Roger that there are still good reasons for knowing which platform you are on, unless you want to write a LOT of scripts...
