When I create a QueueManager using the MQSeries Explorer
I can see the channel initiator and channel listener.
However when i create the QueueManager using the commands
I don't see it.The docs say that start chinit command
has to be given to start the channel initiator.
However i don' tsee any executable as chinit in the
folder due to which start chinit fails.
What could b the reason ????

Vandana,
if the docs (which?) refer to the 'START CHINIT' command, than this is an MQSeries command that you have to execute from within RUNMQSC, not a Windows START command. The executable for the channel initiator is runmqchi.exe. See the System Administration Manual for valid command line options for this command.
HTH,
Stefan
PS. Any success with your COBOL problem?
