All,

Capitalware Inc. would like to announce the official release of MQ Visual Edit v1.3.1.

This is a FREE upgrade for licensed users of MQ Visual Edit. To download the latest release go to:
http://www.capitalware.biz/mqve_overview.html

Changes for MQ Visual Edit v1.3.1:
    - Added 'speed searching' on the 'List of Queues' window - type in the first few characters of the queue name and the cursor is repositioned.
    - Fixed a bug to make sure spaces are removed from queue manager name on the Queue Manager Access Profile window.
    - For the 'includes JVM' version, the JRE has been updated to v1.5.0. Very nice looking for Swing GUI components.

For more information or to try out a 30-day trial version of MQ Visual Edit or MQ Visual Edit go to:
http://www.capitalware.biz/mqve_overview.html

Hi

I have downloaded this version and am trying to run it from server and it just does not run on the workstation ( runs it started on server). I need a procedure on how to run this from server. ( will the user still need the jvm installed if running on server?)

I also wanted to try the option of locking the commdbprofile properties file and referencing the one on server but I cannot find the .bat file I am supposed to edit.

Hi Lillian,

What platform are you attempting to run MQ Visual Edit on? Windows, Linux, Unix, etc. ??

For Linux & Unix, you will need Java JVM installed on the server plus X11 running on the server. Also, you will need an X11 Server running on your PC to display the X11 session.

For Windows, you will Java JVM to be installed in a directory that is define in your PATH environment. This can be either on the server or locally on your PC. Although, I would personally install it Java JVM on your local PC.

For Windows, the bat file is no longer required since it is now compiled to an executeable format. So yes, I need to update the docs.

In the directory where MQ Visual Edit is installed create a file called mqve.bat and input the following:
Code:
@echo off
mqve.exe "-J-DCommProfileDB=N:\mycommdir"

where N:\mycommdir is the directory where the locked CommProfileDB file is located. Note: Make sure you wrap the parameter with double quotes.

Lastly, we sell MQ Visual Edit at an extremely reasonable price. Therefore, we license MQ Visual Edit to the end-user. Meaning licenses are NOT shareable. Regardless if you have part-time, casual, full-time, contractors, etc., each person MUST have their own license. (Although, if someone leaves the company you can transfer the license to another employee.)

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Regards,
Roger Lacroix
