I am fairly new to MQSeries and need help with a problem we’re currently facing. Here's the problem: we have a queue on MVS on which we’d like to set up a trigger when it reaches a specific depth. I understand that the trigger message will go to the initiation queue and the trigger monitor runs on the initiation queue but I need help understanding how to point the trigger monitor to the PL/1 application. We’ve got jcl and a schedule in control-m that will run it but we don’t know how to get MQ talking to it or if it’s possible. Any help will be appreciated.
If you want to trigger a batch job I suggest downloading the MA12 support pac. I have used this support pac for various jobs that I wanted to kick off in batch from MQ. The main limitation that I have to deal with is that it uses a proc to kick off the batch job so instream data is a bit tricky to deal with, but can be done.
