Hi

I am using Lotus Domino 5.0.9 and MQSeries 5.2 . I am facing problem how to invoke lotus notes agent by MQSeries Trigger Monitor. The configuration which i have done is as follows :
On MQSeries Server I had made the process and defined to invoke Notes Agent also i had specified the agent name in Application ID .

On other end where my notes database and server is installed i am running Trigger monitor to trigger my Notes Agent.
But this is not happening . as i know i can't use mqlsx now because it has been stooped comming with lotus(also IBM had stopped supporting that .)
anyone please let me know how can i invoke notes agent by client trigger monitor without using mqlsx.

Thanks
Deepak

MQLSX works fine with all releases of MQ, and I believe ships with MQSeries or the support pac is on the web.

The Notes trigger monitor reads the trigger message (type 22) and starts the notes agent named in the application data.

The Notes agent could be written in Java or Lotuscript I suppose. I have mine in Lotuscript. It loads the MQLSX and read the message from the queue.

The February 2000 issue of MQ Update (www.xephon.com/mq) has an example (with source) of how to code lotuscript to read MQ messages and send Email.

Personally, I am not that worried about IBM "support", the MQLSX works and there is no reason for it to stop working. I met the IBM'er who wrote it and he is still at Hursley and would probably fix any problems if needed.

--------

If you are using a CLIENT trigger monitor - make sure you use the correct version of the Notes trigger monitor - one is for use with MQServer and one for MQClient. (Support pac MA7E).

Install MQClient on the Notes server. Make sure the MQ installation is working by running the usual test programs.

Start the client trigger program and it should say "waiting for trigger message". Send a message to the queue (and check the trigger message arrives).

The trigger monitor should launch the Notes agent.

Schedule your agent to run at intervals as well as being triggered - this will catch anything that "slips through the net".

Check on the MQSeries server that APAR PQ21707 is applied (or superceded) if you have problems defining the trigger type of NOTESAGENT (22).
