You will form part of a team that owns and continually reviews the Middleware infrastructure design aswell as provide consultancy to application owners and other technical areas in an matters relating to Middleware. This role will also involve advising on Middleware infrastructure strategy
Essential :<br>
<ul><li>Previous experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting and tuning MQ Series/ MQSI.
<li>Previous experience integrating applications using MQ Series and MQSI on a number of major projects including installation and registration of applications.
<li>Good knowledge of EAI principles.
<li>Sun hardware and Solaris operating system exposure.
<li>Intel hardware and Win2K operating system exposure.
<li>Good networking skills (TCP/IP).
<li>Ability to co-ordinate work to minimise disruption.
<li>Knowledge of LDAP / JMS / JNDI.</ul>
Highly Desirable:<br>
<ul><li>Experience with Java
<li>Experience with firewalls
<li>Experience with multiple messaging products
<li>Experience with BMC Patrol
<li>Experience with IIS, WebSphere and Domino web hosting platforms
<li>Experience of continuous operations. </ul>
Responsibilities <br>
<ul><li>Co-own the design of the infrastructure.
<li>Develop the architecture in conjunction with applications developers and strategy group.
<li>Install, configure, troubleshoot and tune MQ Series-based infrastructure.
<li>Provide 3rd level support for application integrators
<li>Assist in deployment of applications, which use connectivity services.
<li>Provide 3rd level support to the environment.
<li>Websphere MQ Series/ MQSI management and administration.
<li>Involvement in maintenance release patch release and ensure appropriate compliance.
<li>Technical interface to vendor (IBM).
<li>Integration documentation and consultancy.
<li>Ensure that application solutions being implemented are in line with enterprise-wide requirements.
<li>Ensure the infrastructure has the capability to scale as demand for access to resources grows.
<li>Supporting and maintaining elements of the development environment.
<li>Develop and maintain guidelines and standards in the best use of the environment.
<li>Review and implementation of patches, service packs and regular maintenance including development of test materials, executing tests and reporting results are included in the update lifecycle.
<li>Ensuring the architectural principles are in line with the IT and e-Business strategies.
<li>Liaison with e-Infrastructure project team to ensure acceptance of any future changes or upgrades to the global single sign-on architecture.</ul>
