Dear All!

It is given 3 different queues. For example A, B, C.
It is given 3 different OS users. For example user1, user2, user3

The requirement is that user1 should be able to access only the "A" queue, user2 only the "B" queue and user3 only the "C" queue.

Could you give me a hint for the proper setmqaut command for that?

Thank you!
...and the version is 9.1 on AIX..

First of all your 3 users need to be in 3 different authorization groups.
second you need to authorize the group they are in at the MQ Q level.
Third, as you changes os group membership, refresh security on the qmgr
Enjoy

They do not need to be in different groups if the queue manager is configured for user-level authorisations.See here: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSFKSJ_8.0.0/com.ibm.mq.pro.doc/q118793_.htm

I agree that security rules can be user-based or group-based.

Rules for 300 or 3000 or 30,000 individual users seems a poor choice. I believe that was FJ's point. Organizations are group-based - org charts.
