Hey folks,

I did a side by side upgrade from MQ7 to MQ8 last year. Now I'm trying to remove the old MQ7 installation that we've upgraded from, leaving the mq8 installation. Some info:

Have you made sure no qmgr is using installation1?
Have you removed the installed binaries (rpm --remove ??)
I don't think you can remove the installation as long as its binaries are still present...

Have you made sure that the olde installation is no longer the primary installation?

make sure to run the dspmq in a shell that has Installation1 as it's environment.

I hadn't removed the packages. I removed them and the instance delete works now.

[root@mq8 ~]# dltmqinst -n Installation1 -p /opt/mqm
Entry deleted successfully.
