hi,

can anyone tell me if I can adopt a top down design approach in BuildTime?? ie design a high level plan constructed with blocks or subprocesses (and these blocks and subprocesses have not been defined yet) and then later on, I go about defining these blocks and subprocesses.. and all their components

There is no doubt that you can do what you are saying in Buildtime... But until you have some program or process activities defined within the blocks you wont have anything to run at Runtime.

Perhaps I am not understanding the question.

so as long as I don't need to run the process at runtime, I can have a empty block or subprocesss defined in my process?

YES, But then as far as I can see, you are simply using Buildtime as a drawing tool.
