Well we are in a a slightly embarrassing position of having to cancel a workshop that is scheduled for SFO Feb 2-4. This was a big deal for us because we are trying out a couple of new things. First, it is our first workshop using the zPDT (mainframe on a laptop) image that my teammate Mitch has worked so hard on. This gives us the ability to take the workshop to more places, where we do not have to have connectivity. The downside is that we cannot emulate a coupling facility and get reasonable responsiveness, so we will not be doing any labs with shared queues. The second new thing was to introduce some real lab exercises on security because if someone does something silly they will only hurt themselves! Since each image is unique, no one can restrict other participants and at the very worst, we can re-image the machine.
If you are in he SFO area and are interested in attending, please contact your local IBM rep and let them know as soon as possible.
We do have a number of other dates and locations under consideration in North America, but they have not yet been announced. |

Is there a course code for this? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

A bit of clarification, please.
I'm interested, but I'm more interested in the zPDT aspect of hosting. Does this IMQ08 Wildfire training focus on the zPDT platform hosting at all? Or, is it really a "what's new in IMQ v8?" transparently hosted in a new way? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

However, the developer of the image we use is one of the instructors, and you can pick his brain during breaks and before and after the regular session. |

Ok. Thanks anyway. This would require travel for me. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.
