What exactly do you mean by 'special?' Why would a new STGCLASS be needed?

The other (tuning) aspect of STGCLASS is its (indirect) mapping to virtual storage buffer pools within the qmgr address space. Messages are MQPUT to, and MQGET (consumed) from virtual storage buffers. Buffer management software moves messages from to/from pagesets and buffers.

Your QLocal definition names a STGCLASS. The STGCLASS definition identifies the pageset id (PSID). The PSID definition identifies the BUFFERPOOL. The BUFFERPOOL definition identifies how many buffers to allocate (for this STGCLASS and PSID).

See! System admin is more complicated for WMQ for z/OS.
