Simple case here again, but what I'll need to implement is some way to monitor that queue managers are running and that messages are getting from one queue manager to another, and generate alerts if things break.
At this point, I don't know what facilities exist natively. We'll probably want to write something in Java. If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated.
You can write a simple application that connects to the Q managers periodically and browse the queues for the oldest message on the queue and then find the put time of the message. If message is lying there for quite long then there might be a problem. Also you can check the channels using PCF commands.
