This is all very fine, and I've seen it done, and I've seen one simple update to the DNS switch the DR into the live system. I'm not saying you don't have 1,000 procedures to stop it happening just that procedures are not always followed. Ok, people get fired for that sort of thing but it doesn't help with mopping up the mess.

Also "in the same WMQ estate". If (as here) you consider Production & DR 2 different estates it's valid.
