I am looking for any published statistics around the performance metrics for JSON vs XMLNSC parser in WMB. I couldn't find any so far. If IBM can post them on WMB help infocenter it would be great.

If you have an XML message, and its JSON equivalent, which one would perform better/quicker , XMLNSC parser or JSON ? Looking for more detailed answers than "it depends ... "

Is the JSON parser in WMB IBM's proprietary or is it some open source parser available out there ?

Appreciate any relevant info.

Have you done any tests? Care to share your mileage?

Your combination of hardware, message styles and message flow logic will have a big influence on the results, so I'm afraid 'it depends' is the correct answer, not a cop-out.

IBM publishes performance reports for every release. I know the perf reports contain stats for the XMLNSC parser. I don't know whether the reports contain stats for the JSON parser. Either way, the reports are for a representative set of message styles, and your mileage may vary.

The SupportPac for performance doesn't cover this use case, but it would be easy for you to test yourself.
To get it into future performance SupportPacs, you could provide feedback as described in the SupportPacs.

I would normally be worrying more about the rationale of not using XML. Do you want the interoperability of XML based web services, or the consumability of JSON by clients written in a particular technology. What validation of messages are you expecting? etc etc
