Hi,

When issuing the following two commands will there be any difference in the outputs??

1.dis ql(*) where (cluster eq '<clus name>')
2.dis qcluster(*)

will the output be same??

In order for us to be of any help to you, you will need to be precise in your posts.

From now on, please post (cut and paste) your complete conversation.

Exactly what command did you issue? And exactly what was the output from the command? Post these together in your replies.

From the output you displayed, why do you believe that a queue is displayed twice?

Please repost the exact same output (use Quote button), AND use Bold button to highlight exactly where you see a queue displayed twice.

I see one and only one instance of the LOGQ for each of the display commands. Am I missing something?

[edit]

Do you believe that because you see LOGQ a total of three times - once each in your three separate display commands - that three queues by the same name (LOGQ) exist?

Is this a problem? Or is it normal behavior?

Queue depth increasing is an indicator that the producing application is producing messages. This is normal behavior.

Is the consuming application running? If not, start the consuming application.

If the consuming application is running, then this is an indication that the producing application is producing messages faster than the consuming application can consume them. Again, is this a problem, or is it normal behavior?

We can't know whether this normal or unusual behavior for your applications, because we don't know your applications.

Queue depth is only one of many indicators; and by itself depth alone tells you/us very little. In this sense, queue depth is like cpu utilization or i/o's per second: each indicate work being processed.
