i did telnet and its working... In the application logs we could see 2009 error

So what is different between the telnet and the application.

telnet mqhostname mqport

export | set MQServer='mqchannel/TCP/mqhostname(mqport)'

Are you using the hostname and the app is using an ip address?
Do they match? See nslookup mqhostname.

Something must be different, or the app would not be receiving 2009 while the telnet call goes fine... Is the channel name correct (case sensitive) and is the channel name in a non stopped state? Is the max channels / max active channels reached for the channel or the qmgr?

Investigate!

Are you getting 2009 each and every time, all the time, this app tries to connect? If yes, check the MQ channel name. Its case sensitive!

If its sporadic, your telnet test working is nice but not conclusive. You would have to do your telnet test at the EXACT same instant that your app was getting the 2009 to see if the problem was impacting a telnet connection.

And you've been asked mutliple times when are you getting the 2009. Tell us. On which MQ call are you getting it? The MQCONN? The MQOPEN? The MQPUT?

Is this a Java app?
Is this MQ Client 6 or older?

If yes to both, did the Queue Manager recently get upgraded to MQ 7?

Why do you have such difficulty in answering questions from people that are trying to help you?
