I'm trying to install the 'MQSeries Client for Java' component from the MQSeries Client CD (v5.2.1), but I do not see it on the menu during installation. The 'Client', 'Development Toolkit', 'Internet Gateway' and 'Internet Gateway Documentation' options all exist however. I'm trying to install onto a Windows 2000 Professional platform and I have the Java Runtime Environment installed (v1.3.1). How can I see the check box I require? Thanks. |

Andy,
The Java client (and JMS) is only available from the web.
Download Support Pac MA88.
Cheers,

Eddie,
Thanks for the information. I've already downloaded SupportPac MA88 and tried installing it before the MQSeries Client software (should I have installed it afterwards?). However, the components menu still only has the same four options. The documentation for the SupportPac states that it's installing the 'MQSeries Classes for Java' - is this the same as the 'MQSeries Client for Java'? If I have the SupportPac and JRE installed, should there be the extra option on the install components menu? Thanks for your help. Andy |

Andy,
The MA88 from the web will always be at a higher level that anything on a CD, as it gets updated on a fairly regular basis.
I know that they took the Java stuff of the 5.2 Server CD, but I'm not sure about the Client CD.
As long as installing from the CD after the Support Pac didn't 'down level' any of the jar files you should be OK. Check the file dates.
The java classes handle both client and bindings connection. There's no seperate 'client' as such.
Cheers,
