Hi,
I want to develop a simple MQ Monitoring tool, which would give me Q depths and the message contents in the Queue. Nothing else.
This monitoring tool needs to be integrated as a menu item in the application using the MQ.
Cannot afford to go for 3rd party tools pls..

options I think can be used are :
(1) Using C API's provided by MQ
(2) Oracle 8 link to AQ

Any ideas...

TIA

Have a look at the free IBM support pacs - all these functions are available free.

There is some sample Java PCF programs published in the free back issues of MQ Update.

Try looking at the MO71 support pac. This can monitor queues, queue managers channels etc.

It's freely downloadable from IBM's support pac website.
