in this long and interesting thread several requirements emerged for the "ideal" MFT solution:
1\ Ability do behave both as a procotol client and as a protocol server (e.g. for FTP)
2\ Ability to apply the usual queue metaphor to files
Primeur MFT products do offer support for client and server behavior for FTP, FTP/S, SFTP, HTTP, HTTP/S protocols plus several others.
Moreover the products have a QMgr/Queue structure (remote queues are associated to a protocol and a destination) and are engineered for long term storage of possibly huge files and file metadata.
Last but not least: full integration with WMQFTE (and with WMB) is provided.
