Hi,

We have a production queue manager that has an incorrectly named cluster sender channel.

We'd like to add a correctly named cluster sender channel to the queue manager but would like to know if having multiple cluster sender channels to the same queue manager would cause a problem?

We'll remove the old one once we are satisfied the new one is working correctly.

Thanks

In what way is it incorrectly named? Your post implies it may have a matching CLUSRCVR, but if not, just stop and delete the channel, which can be done regardless of when the 'new one' is working correctly.

If the old one is named incorrectly, what good can it be doing? Removing it as soon as possible seems best. Once it's removed, use DIS CLUSQMGR to check if all knowledge of it is gone. Also check the qmgr error logs to see what damage might have been noted in there.

If the channel is working fine but you wish to change the name of it then create the appropriate new pair first before removing the old pair.

This will mean that you will not impact the running of the system as long as you do it correctly.

We have several systems with multiple cluster channels running between the same queue managers so it does work ok.

Of course if you have just named the channel incorrectly and it isnt working then just remove it.
