I have installed MQ5.3 on windows and configured using perl script. All the MQ objects were defined and everything is working fine but when I open MQ explorer/MQ Services Snap-In It is not showing up the MQ objects. Please advise what would went wrong and how do get the objects in explorer?

I remember this was quite a common problem with 5.3.. so you should be able to find some information. BUT this version is out of support! Why, why, why are you installing it, and furthermore, why are you posting here for advice without at least making excuses for why you are installing it first?

On this same note..
if i install and run MQ v5.3(gone out of support) in production..do i still have to pay for the license?.

pls note that , it is not I who wants to do this..but there are some really arrogant clients who wish to do this kind of thing.

So I was just curious.

If you aren't paying for the license, then you are stealing the software.

But I don't have to pay for the MQ on a yearly basis, since MQ v5.3 is not supported.

But of course yes the first time i purchase it , I have to.

So, following that logic to its conclusion: why don't companies wait for OS's to go out of support, so they don't have to pay for licensing?

This one sounds as potty as one of your other posts. Will you be contacting Microsoft next to ask them "Would your business be in trouble?" if Linux starts to rule the world?

Well , MS is already in trouble . Linux runs on all the super computers , but windows doesn't.

You're not buying a WMQv5.3 license, you're buying a WMQ license. So you need an appropriate license to run any version of WMQ. If your clients want to buy a license and then run a version that doesn't give them the benefit of IBM support then they're not just arrogant they're stupid.

And if they're running v5.3 without a license then they are indeed stealing the software and (because they're your client) you're an accomplice.

Surely it depends on the market MS is aiming for? When we have a supercomputer in every home and on every desk in the office you may well have a point but until then, im sure they're not fretting too much about it!
