I’m after some pointers around coexisting WMB 6.0.0.6 and 6.1.0.3 on the same server and have been trying to find some documentation that clearly states the process.
To me it’s a case of installing in a different location, creating an additional wmqiadm user e.g. wmqiadm2 for a new profile and creating unique resources (Qmgr and DB)
Have I missed anything? – is there a red book? – I’ve looked but cannot find it.
Many thanks... |

By default the 6.1 runtime installs into different tree that 6.0 so that is easy.
I have 6.0.0.3 & 6.1.0.3 happily residing on my Windows Server. Didn't have to do anything special apart from upgrading Db2 to 9.1 and rembering to use different databases and config mgr directories. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Thanks for that reassurance - should have mentioned its Unix (AIX) but my main query is really around the additional user – surely I need this for the new .profile? |

Yes You will need a new user if you source the mqsiprofile so that it gets defined automatically on loging/terminal startup.
If the profile is not soured then you can select the one your want manually _________________ WMQ User since 1999
