Can we cluster WAS server in different platform? It seems obvious but when we consider the configuration, which needs to be the same for all server to access the shared resources, how is it possible for a server in windows and lets say in Unix.

I would appreciate if you could clarify.

Thanks

Yes, you can federate multiple nodes running on different platforms into the same Deployment Manager, and then create WAS clusters across the app server instances hosted on those nodes.

Can I combine 32-bit nodes and 64-bit nodes in a cluster?

and Can I federate a 32-bit node to a 64-bit dmgr? Appreciate your reply.

What does the documentation say?

What happens when you try it?

I couldn't find documentation regarding mixed bit environment. And obviously we haven't tried it yet.

The reason for the question is that, we are building an AIX WPS environment and we are planning to install WSRR. Interestingly but strange though, WSRR on AIX runs only on WAS 6.1 ND 32-bit only. So instead of having it's own DMGR we would like to have it federate into WPS DMGR which is being planned as a 64-bit installation.
