Hi All,
Its more over a design pit fall, requires a work around to resolve this issue.
We are have a 3rd party application(JAva apps) which connects with database through WAS.
Application(JAva) ---->Connection Pool ---WAS ---Database
here most of the times the process limit will increase and we have to restart the WAS, some times database too. (we know its a fault on apps side, we are still screaming to change that  )
In Connection pool, if the connections are idle, it will not be removed or cleaned up from the system. if so how can i do it.
Right now the 3rd party team are planning to go ahead with Data source to connect with database to avoid this scenario.
Due to this the WAS hungs, and none of the transactions happens.
Let me know how can i resolve it on WAS side.

app --> WAS --> jdbc connection pool (datasource)--> DB
