I am trying to recover messages and QueueManager( including objects) on different server.

You should use the various support packs that allow this, like the savemqgr and qload, that provide this functionality in a supported way.

Hi Vennela,

What I tried instead of moving to server which has MQ6 I moved to Server which has MQ 5.3 still it didn't work.Any way thanks for reply

Trainee

I am pretty sure it will work
How are you doing the copy?
Instead can you tar /var/mqm and untar them on the destination boxWhile tarring, use absolute paths rather than relative paths
Can you do that with root?

Make sure the 5.3 versions are same.
P.S: I have done this hundreds of times and I am pretty sure this will work

Hi ,

This is what I did now.

I tared the var/mqm/qmgrs/TESTQM, var/mqm/log/TESTQM file system with root id .
scp the tar files to another server
I untarred with using the root id

It worked for me.

Previously I did n't do scp the file system using ROOT but with the id which is member of mqm ,may be the cause of problem.

Thanks for every one for your support
