I dont see a migration/upgrade path in the installation manual for WID6.0.2 from WID 6.0.1. (windows XP) . I understand that 6.0.2 is a new release and just not a fix pack thing.
when i try to install 6.0.2, the wizard detects 6.0.1 and informs to use Rational Product Updater.
I have used RPU to apply fixes where i provide a Policy.XML file to update the products. I dont see such policy file for 6.0.2.
seems like I have to uninstall 6.0.1 and install 6.0.2.
any one upgraded to 6.0.2 from 6.0.1 ? any pointers to documentation ?
Thanks |

I would think that the 6.0.2 update would be available through the network and that RPU would just find it online for you. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

I tried using the updates on RPU. for some reason it failed to find the IBM ftp site. Will work some more on it .
somehow it doesnt seem proper to install using a ibm ftp site. Usually these are like 2/3 GB software and not feasible for most users.
I am trying not to uninstall 6.0.1 to put 6.0.2.
anyways thanks for your suggestion. |

For installing 6.0.2, no need to uninstall existing version of 6.0.1 you can use RPU to update to 6.0.2. |

Had to restore to default RPU settings..
Rational Product Updater -> preferences -> update sites --> Restore defaults
connected to correct repositories and upgraded to 6.0.2 with no issues
Thanks |
